Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that the highest level of treatment is being provided to the burn victims in the Gazipur fire, including fire service personnel. He said, \u2018The government is providing all necessary assistance to the burn victims. No negligence will be done in the treatment.\u2019 He gave this assurance while visiting the Tongi accident victims admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute on Tuesday (September 23) morning.
\nThe Home Affairs Advisor said, \u2018As you know, a major accident took place yesterday (Monday). Four of our fire service personnel were burnt there. The condition of two of them is serious due to the extent of the burns and the condition of one is slightly less. This hospital is an international standard hospital. The treatment here is very good. The doctors here are trying their best. Pray to God for a speedy recovery.\u2019
\nHe also said, \u2018The Fire Service, the Home Ministry and the government will provide all the necessary assistance for the treatment of the burnt victims.\u2019
\nIn response to a question from journalists about the removal of chemical warehouses, the advisor said, \u2018When chemical accidents occur in Old Dhaka, those warehouses are shifted to Munshiganj. \nRegarding the treatment of the burnt victims, Professor Dr. Nasir Uddin, Director of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, said that the condition of all three of them is critical as more than 40 percent of their bodies have been burned. However, one is out of danger.
\nIncidentally, an explosion occurred at a chemical warehouse in the Notun Bazar Railgate Sahara Market area of \u200b\u200bTongi, Gazipur at around 4:30 pm last Monday. A fire service officer and four firefighters were burned in the fire caused by the explosion. Seven units are working to control the fire.
