BNP’s joint international affairs secretary Rumin Farhana said that if Jamaat-e-Islami identifies someone as an enemy, no other party in Bangladesh will attack them the way they do. She made this comment while appearing on a talk show recently.
\nStating that Jamaat identifies someone as a threat to them and attacks them to eliminate them, Rumin said, ‘As a political party, we need to understand some things about Jamaat. It is a very well-organized party.
\nA very well-organized party. All Jamaat workers, supporters and voters are deadly. They can live or die for the party. They can do anything for the party.
\nThey are not judged by good or bad. They will follow the party’s orders. Much like our army. Jamaat is very similar to the training that armies of different countries go through and the Jamaat Ameer said a few days ago that our patriotic army and we are very well-organized.
\nSo if they can collectively identify the enemy, they will attack him in a way that no other political party in Bangladesh will.’
\nNowadays, social media has a lot of influence in politics. And here too, Rumeen Farhana has put Jamaat ahead. She said, ‘There are two spheres of politics now. One is the conventional sphere.
\nThe sphere where we fight. We hold public meetings and protests. From where we are caught and thrown in jail. The other is the digital sphere of social media. The digital sphere is much more important. After all, 50,000 to 100,000 people will join my public meeting and one of my digital content reaches 10,000,000 people in a moment. So the digital sphere is much more important. You must have noticed how Jamaat attacks its opponents or those whom they consider a threat to its political discourse in the digital sphere. They have numerous bot IDs and with them they can attack a person in any language. They can make ugly comments on any subject.’ Stating that Jamaat has no political etiquette, Rumeen Farhana said, “Political etiquette is actually a far-fetched thing now. For example, didn’t I say in Parliament about Jamaat that the situation of Jamaat has become such that they should be beaten to death by putting a label on them. This cannot happen in a civilized country. Yet it happened. So when I spoke for them in their bad times, they did not remember that. Now if any of my statements or statements are correct and they consider any politics of the Jatiya Party to be a threat to Jamaat, then they will not think twice about immediately eliminating them or completely burying them in the ground.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
