Around 47% of India’s ministers are accused in criminal cases – this information has emerged from a recent report by the independent research organization Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). According to the report, out of 302 ministers in 27 states and three union territories, 47% of them have criminal cases against them. Not only that, many of them also have serious allegations like murder, kidnapping, sexual assault. This information has come to light at a time when the central government has introduced three new bills to combat corruption. The bills propose that if a Prime Minister, Chief Minister or minister is in jail for more than 30 days, he will be removed from office.<\/p>\n
