The parliament building was gutted in a fire. This terrible accident occurred in the Pacific island nation of the Marshall Islands. An official from the Marshall Islands Fire Department said that half of the parliament building was burned down in the fire that spread overnight. On Tuesday night (August 26) local time, a fire broke out in the parliament building-Nitijella. Due to the high intensity, the fire service struggled to control the fire. The police also stepped in to help. The situation was brought under control after several hours of activities. By then, most of the building had burned down. The session room, offices, library and archive were burnt. The rest of the building was also rendered unusable. There were no reports of burns or casualties in the incident. The cause of the fire is not yet known.<\/p>\n
