The trial of the murder case of Abu Said, the first martyr of the July Uprising, begins today. The opening statement of this case will be held at the International Crimes Tribunal-2. Along with this, testimony may also be taken from today. Earlier, on August 6, Tribunal 2 ordered to frame charges against 30 people, including former Vice Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University Hasibur Rashid, and start the trial. On Wednesday (August 27) morning, 6 accused arrested in this case were presented to the tribunal. 24 people, including the former Vice Chancellor of Berobi, are still absconding. Four lawyers have already been appointed for them at the government’s expense. Earlier, on July 28, the state party completed the hearing of framing charges against 30 accused in this case. On that day, Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam heard for the state party in the court. He presented the specific allegations in this case in detail.
