Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Commerce Minister has expressed Pakistan’s interest in increasing bilateral trade with Bangladesh. He said these things during a courtesy call on Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan, who is visiting Bangladesh, at the DCCI’s Motijheel office on Thursday (August 21). During the meeting, Dhaka Chamber President Taskin Ahmed said that the people of the two countries have a lot of similarities in terms of culture and lifestyle and there is a lot of demand for Pakistani textiles and especially jewelry products among the people of this country. The DCCI President said that the private sector of this country has always been proposing to the government to sign FTAs \u200b\u200bto promote trade and investment in Bangladesh in various countries of the world, and if Bangladesh signs an FTA with Pakistan, bilateral trade and commerce will further expand. He said that if direct air and cargo communication is started between the two countries, the trade communication of the two countries will increase. Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan said that both Bangladesh and Pakistan are highly dependent on the ready-made garments and textile sectors in terms of exports. It is necessary to emphasize on the diversification of export products of both countries. He mentioned that the popularity of reusing used clothes through new designs is gradually increasing in European countries, including Canada and the United States. Where entrepreneurs in the garment sector of both countries must focus. Through which new horizons of export trade will be opened. He said that there is ample opportunity to work together to increase the export of products of the two countries to the countries of East Africa and Central Asia. He said that Pakistan is doing quite well in sectors such as cement, sugar, footwear and leather and if Bangladesh wants, it can import these products from Pakistan. He also expressed the opinion that Bangladesh’s experience and expertise in the pharmaceutical sector will be very useful for Pakistan. The Pakistani Commerce Minister also said that if new technologies and value addition are introduced in the agriculture and production of products of the two countries, opportunities will be created for Bangladesh and Pakistan to export to the global billion-dollar economy in this sector. He said that a ‘Single Country Exhibition’ will be organized in Bangladesh soon to expand the market for Pakistani products, through which an opportunity will be created to further strengthen the relations between the private sectors of the two countries.
