The High Court has ordered to declare the UN report on human rights violations during the July-August uprising as a ‘historical document’. The court also asked the concerned ministries and departments to publish it in the form of a gazette within the next three months. A High Court bench comprising Justice Fahmida Quader and Justice Mubina Assaf gave the verdict on Thursday (August 21). The court ordered that the report should be published in the form of a gazette within the next three months under the name ‘July Revolution-2024’. At the same time, the case has been declared as an ongoing case. The court also wants to know why the UN fact-finding report on the July-August genocide will not be preserved for future generations. Lawyer Md. Tanvir Ahmed said that the final verdict on the case was to be announced on August 3. However, the verdict was announced today, August 21, when the state sought time.
