Three people were killed and at least 15 injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Kanaipur Bazar area of Faridpur Sadar Upazila on Dhaka-Khulna Highway. The seriously injured are being treated at Faridpur Medical College Hospital. The accident occurred at around 12:30 pm on Thursday (August 14). Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Karimpur Highway Police Station Md. Salauddin Ahmed said that a Dhaka-bound Royal Express bus and a Chuadanga-bound Darshana Deluxe Paribahan collided head-on on a bridge near Kanaipur Bazar. The front parts of both buses were twisted. The seriously injured were quickly rescued and taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, where the doctors on duty declared the three dead. Two of the deceased have been initially identified: Ranjit Kumar and Atiyar Sheikh. The other is a woman, but her home address is not yet known.
