Principal Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus held a bilateral meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. After the meeting, five memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed between Bangladesh and Malaysia and three notes were exchanged. The meeting with Anwar Ibrahim began at 10 am local time on Tuesday (August 12), the first day of the Chief Advisor’s three-day visit to Malaysia. Two high-level meetings were held between the two countries at the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office. Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim led the meetings on behalf of their countries. After the meeting, the Chief Advisor’s press wing announced the signing of the MoUs and the exchange of notes. The MoUs signed include defense cooperation, energy cooperation, establishment of business councils (FBCCI and NCCIM), cooperation between BMCCI and Malaysian institution MIMOS, and cooperation between Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) and Malaysian Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS). On the other hand, three notes were exchanged between the two countries on cooperation in halal ecosystem, higher education and diplomatic training academy. Earlier, when Professor Yunus arrived there at 9 am local time, he was given a red carpet welcome by Anwar Ibrahim. The Chief Advisor was given a guard of honor there.
