Seven police officers have been promoted to the post of additional IG. All of them were DIG rank officers. This information was given in a notification issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (August 11).<\/p>\n
The additional IGs are\u2014<\/strong><\/p>\n APBN DIG Md. Ali Hossain Fakir, SB DIG G M Azizur Rahman, DMP Additional Police Commissioner (DIG) Md. Sarwar, Armed Police Battalion DIG Md. Mostafa Kamal, Police Department DIG Kazi Md. Fazlul Karim, Highway Police DIG Md. Rezaul Karim and Chittagong Range DIG Md. Ahsan Habib Palash. The notification states that after completing all the formalities mentioned in the letter No. 07.155.015.44.03.034.2010 (Part-2)-540 dated 09-10-2024 of the Ministry of Public Administration and the Finance Department, the above officers have been promoted against the newly created seven supernumerary posts. It further states that if the posts become vacant due to promotion, retirement, removal or any other reason of the incumbents working in the posts, the posts will be automatically abolished and the tenure of the seven supernumerary posts will be one year from the date of creation of the posts. The promoted officers will continue to perform their duties in their posts.
