On this day (August 3), 2024, millions of people of all ages, classes and professions gathered at Shaheed Minar in response to the call of a group of young people to break the shackles of dictatorship and dream of a discrimination-free new Bangladesh. On the first anniversary of that historic day, the new political party after the coup, the National Citizen Party-NCP, is going to announce the manifesto of the new Bangladesh. Leaders and activists from different districts started gathering at the Shaheed Minar premises before 4 pm. They have that cherished dream in their eyes – a discrimination-free new Bangladesh. Where there will be no violence in the new political settlement; there will be peaceful coexistence with different views and paths. They want that to be reflected in the manifesto. Most are putting their trust in the NCP as it has come out of the culture of establishing a dynasty in the name of democracy. Trinamool leaders and activists claim that there is a huge response in the districts and upazilas after the July march.
