Eminent nuclear scientist, former professor of Dhaka University, founding Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University and Open University, Professor Emirates Dr. M Shamsher Ali Ashrafi Sir passed away at the age of 87 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka on 2.8.2025 at 3:30 pm (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun).
