Two motorcyclists were killed after a passenger bus hit them on the south side of the Padma Bridge on the Dhaka-Bhanga Expressway. The accident occurred at around 11:30 pm on Saturday (August 2) in the Padma Bridge South Police Station area of Jajira Upazila in Shariatpur. The identities of the deceased have not yet been confirmed. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibchar Highway Police Station in Madaripur, Zahirul Islam, said that two youths were going from the capital Dhaka to Bhanga in Faridpur on a motorcycle. At that time, after crossing the Padma Bridge toll plaza, a passenger bus coming from behind hit their motorcycle. The motorcycle was twisted. Later, the two motorcycle riders fell into a ditch on the side of the road. Both died on the spot. On receiving information, the highway police went to the spot and recovered the bodies of the deceased.
