Three Bangladeshi nationals were killed in an accident on Malaysia’s East Coast Highway. Two more Bangladeshis were injured in the incident. The accident occurred on the Kuantan Highway in Malaysia’s Pahang state at around 7:30 pm local time on Friday (August 1). The deceased were identified as Md. Saber Hasan (30), Md. Zahid Hasan (21) and Abdullah (24). Kuantan Acting District Police Chief Superintendent Md. Adli Mat Dawood said the accident occurred at around 7:30 pm. A Toyota Avanza car was heading from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur. The casualties occurred when the car suddenly lost control and veered off the left side of the road while driving straight. He added that the three people were declared dead on the spot after the accident. On the other hand, the two injured were Md. Habib Biswas (45) and Maniram Chandra Bas (40). They were sent to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan for treatment. Initial police investigations revealed that the driver of the vehicle, Md. Saber Hassan, did not have a valid driving license and the vehicle’s road tax had expired since last May. The incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by road accident. Police are trying to trace witnesses to the incident and the employers of the deceased and injured. In addition, the police will check the mechanical condition of the vehicle through Puspakom. Malaysian police have warned the public to drive responsibly and ensure that their vehicles are in good condition before travelling, especially when driving on highways at night.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
