On Thursday (July 31), the Meteorological Department informed that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in many places in Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions. The Meteorological Department said that due to heavy rainfall, there is a risk of landslides in Chittagong, Rangamati, Khagrachari, Bandarban and Cox’s Bazar districts. Along with this, waterlogging may occur in some places in Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong cities due to heavy rainfall. In the weather warning issued earlier yesterday, it was said that due to the influence of monsoon, the air pressure in the North Bay of Bengal is high. Due to this, gale force winds may blow over the coastal areas and seaports of North Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh. Due to this, the seaports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been asked to display local warning signal number 3.
