The draft of July Charter will be sent to political parties by Monday, said National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Dr. Ali Riaz. He made this statement at the beginning of the Consensus Commission meeting with political parties at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Sunday (July 27) morning. Ali Riaz said, “The topics for discussion today have been decided on the principles of state governance, the proposal to expand the fundamental rights of citizens, and the Police Commission. Apart from this, other unresolved issues will also be discussed.” He further said, “Out of 20 issues, the parties have already agreed on 10 issues, including the Note of Distinction. There is no consensus on seven issues. Discussion proposals will be made on three more issues. The dialogue will continue until 10 pm today.” Noting that all parties have agreed to pledge to expand civil rights, Ali Riaz said, “The draft of the National Charter will be sent to political parties tomorrow.” The date for signing the charter will then be fixed.
