A woman in Himachal Pradesh, India, was recently married by her two brothers. Through this marriage, the woman has preserved the ancient polyandry tradition of the Hatti community. More than a hundred people were present at this exceptional wedding. According to a report by NDTV on Sunday (July 20), the wedding ceremony lasted for three days on July 12 in the Trans-Giri area of \u200b\u200bSirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The wedding ceremony was completed in a festive atmosphere with music, folk dance and music. According to the report, the bride Sunita Chauhan and the groom Pradeep and Kapil Negi said that they decided to get married without any pressure. A video of the wedding ceremony has gone viral on social media. The Revenue Act of Himachal Pradesh has recognized this ancient marriage and named it ‘Jadidara’. Five such marriages have taken place in the last six years in the village of Badhana in Trans-Giri. The bride, Sunita, said, \u201cI was aware of the tradition. I agreed to this marriage without any pressure.\u201d NDTV says that the groom, Pradeep, works in a government job. His younger brother, Kapil, works abroad. Not under family pressure, but with the consent of the family to keep this traditional tradition alive, they both decided to marry Sunita. Pradeep said, \u201cWe are proud of our tradition. So, we did the wedding not secretly, but respectfully and informed everyone. The decision was a joint decision of the three of us.\u201d Kapil said, \u201cEven if I am not in the country, we are together by our wife\u2019s side \u2013 with love, stability and responsibility.\u201d The Hatti people are a community mainly living in the border areas of Himachal and Uttarakhand. The group was officially recognized as a \u2018Scheduled Tribe\u2019 in India three years ago. This tradition has been going on for decades in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh.
