An unidentified old woman was crushed to death by a train at the capital’s Kamalapur railway station. She is estimated to be 90 years old. The accident occurred at around 9 am on Wednesday (July 16) on platform number 2 of the station. She was rescued in a life-threatening condition and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared her dead. Dhaka Railway Police Station (Kamalapur) police member A. Malek and railway employee Md. Nahid, who took her to the hospital, said that the woman lived in the station area. She was crossing the railway line on platform number 2 in the morning when her leg was crushed under a train. Upon receiving the information, she was quickly rescued and taken to the hospital.
