After the massive box office success of \u2018Jurassic World: Rebirth\u2019, the film\u2019s lead actress Scarlett Johansson has broken all previous box office records. According to a report by US magazine Forbes, when calculating the total income of all the films Johansson has starred in, she is now the highest-grossing actor in Hollywood (not only women, but also men), where she has surpassed Marvel co-stars Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson and Zoe Saldana. Her films have grossed $14.8 billion worldwide, and she has achieved this record with just 36 films compared to Samuel L. Jackson\u2019s 71! Basically, her role as Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and the recent successful Jurassic World franchise have brought her to this top spot.<\/p>\n

How did she achieve this record?<\/strong><\/p>\n

These records are usually achieved by being a member of an ensemble cast (a multi-starrer project), and all seven of the top 10 are somehow associated with Marvel projects. Among women, only three are in the top 20\u2014Johansson (1st), Saldana (4th), and Harry Potter series’ Emma Watson (16th). According to The Numbers, Johansson’s highest-grossing films are:<\/p>\n

    Johansson\u2019s newly released film \u2018Jurassic World: Rebirth\u2019 brought her to this record with an initial $318 million, and it is estimated that it could eventually reach $1 billion. Notably, her own Marvel film Black Widow (due to the pandemic) only earned $379 million. Scarlett Johansson\u2019s success is not only a result of her talent, but also the right choice of blockbuster franchises.
