A court has granted a 4-day remand to former MP and former cricket team captain Naimur Rahman Durjoy in a case of attack on the anti-discrimination movement. The district’s Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court issued this order on Thursday (July 3) afternoon. Earlier, Durjoy was produced in court on Thursday afternoon. At that time, the investigating officer of the case applied for his 10-day remand. Later, after the hearing, the court granted a four-day remand.<\/p>\n
Yesterday, Wednesday, Naimur Rahman Durjoy was arrested by the Manikganj District Detective Branch (DB) from Lalmatia in the capital. There are several cases against him on various charges, including corruption and financial irregularities. It is worth noting that Durjoy was elected MP for the first time from the Manikganj-1 (Shibalaya, Ghior and Daulatpur) constituency in the 10th National Parliament election in 2014. He also represented the next parliament from the same constituency. He was also the captain of the first Test team after the Bangladesh cricket team gained Test status.
