(PHP SBRIL), a leading unit of the PHP Family, successfully hosted a high-level event today at its Bhatiary-based facility in Chattogram, celebrating five years of continuous compliance with the Hong Kong International Convention (HKC) – a significant achievement in the global ship recycling sector. As one of the world\u2019s most advanced and environmentally responsible ship recycling facilities, PHP SBRIL has maintained full compliance with HKC standards as certified by ClassNK since 2020. The celebration brought together industry leaders and international stakeholders committed to advancing green ship recycling practices.<\/p>\n

The program was graced by Dr. Yamaguchi, Executive Vice President of ClassNK, Japan, who attended as Chief Guest, and Mr. Takahashi Naoki, Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission from the Embassy of Japan in Dhaka, as Special Guest. Their presence reflected the deepening partnership between Bangladesh and Japan in promoting sustainable maritime operations. The event also witnessed participation from senior officials representing ClassNK Japan and Bangladesh, as well as leading global maritime and trading companies including MOL, NYK Line, K Line, Mitsui & Co., JFE Shoji Corp. and others.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, Chairman of PHP Family, stated:<\/strong> In his welcome address, Md. Zahirul Islam, Managing Director of PHP SBRIL, highlighted the company\u2019s long-term vision and strategic investments of over USD 14 million over the past decade to upgrade infrastructure, modernize safety systems, and strengthen environmental compliance.
