The prosecution has received the report after the investigation of the murder case of Abu Sayeed of Rangpur, the first martyr in the July mass uprising. The involvement of 30 people has been found and formal charges may be filed today. This information was revealed by the International Crimes Tribunal on Thursday (June 26).<\/p>\n
Earlier, the investigation agency submitted the investigation report to the tribunal’s prosecution on June 24. It is known that the report has found the involvement of 30 people in the murder of Abu Sayeed. Four accused are in jail in this case. They are – former proctor of Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur Shariful Islam, former assistant sub-inspector of police Amir Hossain, constable Sujan Chandra Roy and Chhatra League leader Imran Chowdhury.<\/p>\n
Earlier, on Sunday (June 15), Chairman of the International Crimes Tribunal Justice Md. The tribunal headed by Golam Mortuza Majumdar ordered to complete the investigation into the case of crimes against humanity in the killing of Begum Rokeya University student Abu Sayeed in Rangpur during the July Uprising within a month. The investigation report of the case was asked to be submitted to the court on July 14. However, the prosecution received the report after the investigation before that.<\/p>\n
The Abu Sayeed murder case during the July Movement is the first case in the International Crimes Tribunal. The case was filed on March 2. At that time, after Abu Sayeed’s death, the movement turned into a firestorm across the country. The death processions continued to increase. Why was there such a delay in filing the case of the first martyr? When asked, the Chief Prosecutor at the time, Mohammad Tajul Islam, said that although the case has not been officially filed, the investigation is in the final stage.<\/p>\n
