Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is visiting Russia on Sunday (June 22) after the US attack on Iran.<\/p>\n
The Iranian Foreign Minister said he will travel to Moscow today (Sunday) and meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday (June 23). He said at a press conference in Istanbul, ‘Russia is a friend of Iran and we have a strategic partnership.’<\/p>\n
Mentioning that Russia is one of the signatories to the JCPOA, Araghchi said, ‘We always consult with each other and coordinate our positions.’<\/p>\n
The Iranian Foreign Minister also said,<\/p>\n
I will have important consultations with the Russian President tomorrow (Monday) and we will continue to work with each other.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Araghchi condemned the US’s ‘barbaric military aggression’ against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program. Speaking at the OIC summit in Istanbul, he said, \u201cThis (US attack) is a heinous, serious violation of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and international law.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Iranian foreign minister also said that the door to diplomacy should always be open, but not now. My country has been attacked, has been invaded, and we must respond based on our legitimate right to self-defense.<\/p>\n
He also commented that the US attack on Iran\u2019s nuclear facilities was an \u201cunforgivable violation of international law.\u201d<\/p>\n
Abbas Araghchi said that the \u201cwarmongering and lawless\u201d US administration would be fully responsible for the \u201cdangerous consequences of its aggression.\u201d<\/p>\n
