A fire that broke out at three tanneries in the capital’s Hazaribagh was brought under control after a two-hour effort. The fire broke out at Bashar Leather factory in Hazaribagh around 1 am on Saturday (June 21). The fire immediately spread to Yusuf Leather and Feni Leather factories.<\/p>\n
Employees of neighboring factories came forward to put out the fire as soon as they sensed the presence of the fire. The fire service arrived at around 2:45 am.<\/p>\n
Initially, two units reached the spot to put out the fire, and two more joined later. However, firefighters had to struggle to put out the fire due to the narrow road and lack of water. Later, four units of the fire service brought the fire under control after a two-hour effort, although it took a long time to extinguish it.<\/p>\n
Locals believe that the fire broke out due to the carelessness of the employees. And since the factory contained chemicals and plastic products, the fire spread quickly.<\/p>\n
Hazaribagh Fire Station Senior Station Officer Subhas Barai said that four units of the fire service brought the fire under control in about two hours of effort. The cause of the fire could not be determined. There were no casualties.
