A Russian airstrike in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev early Tuesday (June 17) killed 15 people, including an American, and injured more than 100, the city’s mayor said.<\/p>\n
Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in a Telegram message that a 62-year-old American citizen was killed in a Russian airstrike in a house opposite the one where doctors treating the wounded during the Russian attack on Kiev were staying. In addition to him, 14 other people were killed.<\/p>\n
Klitschko added that Russian UAVs were still approaching the city from three sides. There was also a missile threat. He advised not to leave shelters.<\/p>\n
The head of the Kiev city military administration, Timur Tkachenko, said the capital was “currently under a combined attack by the enemy.”<\/p>\n
He added that the Russians were using missiles and strike drones.<\/p>\n
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky\u2019s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, condemned Russia\u2019s attacks on \u201cresidential buildings in Kiev\u201d in a Telegram message, saying Moscow was \u201ccontinuing a war against civilians.\u201d Moscow has continued its attacks on Ukraine despite US efforts to mediate a ceasefire.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
