National Citizens Party (NCP) senior joint convener Ariful Islam Adib has alleged that the interim government’s chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is leaning towards BNP’s proposal to hold national elections.<\/p>\n
He spoke to reporters after the second phase of the National Consensus Commission dialogue at the Foreign Service Academy on Tuesday (June 17).<\/p>\n
Adib said that the status of the National Consensus Commission has become questionable as the activities of the chief advisor and the Consensus Commission are leaning towards BNP.<\/p>\n
He said that the meeting agreed that party members will be able to vote against the party in parliament without a vote of confidence and a money bill.<\/p>\n
The NCP senior joint convener said that the NCP has asked the commission to know the process by which the July Charter will be implemented.<\/p>\n
Commenting on the government’s neutrality being questioned in the chief advisor’s discussion with a party, he said that the chief advisor is leaning towards the BNP’s proposal regarding the election.<\/p>\n
Stating that he raised questions in the meeting about the process in which the National Consensus Commission is moving forward and the statement given by the chief advisor to the commission before Eid, Adeeb said that when the election timing is considered after meeting with a leader of a party abroad during the Consensus Commission, the government’s neutrality is undermined.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
