Commenting that the country will be in deep crisis if elections are held without reforms, National Citizens Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari said, those who want elections by December are destabilizing the state. But the youth will not accept such threats.<\/p>\n
He said these things at a workshop titled ‘Fundamental Reforms and Future Politics’ organized by NCP’s Dhaka Metropolitan North at the Celebrity Convention Hall in Gulshan in the capital on Saturday (May 31).<\/p>\n
Nasiruddin said, it will not be possible to change the fascist system unless the constitution is changed. Changing the fascist system does not mean changing power. Since the same person is the head of the party, the head of the state, and the speaker of parliament, the country becomes dependent on one family. There was no mass uprising to continue this trend in the country. There was a mass uprising to establish a democratic governance system.<\/p>\n
NCP expects fair elections, he said,<\/p>\n
The fascist regime is changing. No more individualistic politics can be allowed to continue in Bangladesh. NCP expects a permanent fair election system. But if we do not do that, we will be betraying the next generation.<\/p>\n
The NCP chief coordinator said that this generation wants to move forward through a sustainable reform process, but if it is obstructed, the consequences will be like Hasina’s.<\/p>\n
He said, The Election Commission has failed to fulfill its responsibilities on the Ishraq Hossain issue. Therefore, national elections are not possible with them. Not a couple of people, but the entire commission must be changed. If elections are held without reforms, the country will be in deep crisis. But the young generation will not let that happen.<\/p>\n
He also said, “Those who are demanding elections by December are destabilizing the state. The young people will not accept such threats. I urge those who have lost their minds to come to power to come to their senses.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
