A formal complaint has been filed in the case of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the International Crimes Tribunal. The trial is being broadcast live on BTV.<\/p>\n
The complaint was filed with the tribunal on Sunday (June 1) morning, citing Hasina as the instigator. Later, the trial began to be broadcast live at around 12:15 pm.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Saturday (May 31), Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam said that the trial of the July-August massacre will be visible by December. The trial will be conducted in such a way that no one can question its quality.<\/p>\n
According to tribunal sources, Sheikh Hasina and others accused in the crime against humanity case in the July-August massacre surrounding the anti-discrimination student movement are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun. The investigation into Sheikh Hasina’s case was concluded on May 12. In a briefing that day, the Chief Prosecutor said that Sheikh Hasina is responsible for the indiscriminate killing of more than 1,400 people during the July-August movement.<\/p>\n
The Chief Prosecutor said that evidence of five charges, including ordering, inciting, and inciting indiscriminate killings, had been found against her.
