A court in Faridpur has sentenced four people to life imprisonment in the case of killing a driver named Faruk Talukder (40) after hijacking an easy bike. At that time, each was fined Tk 20,000; the court also ordered a two-month imprisonment in default.<\/p>\n
Additional District and Sessions Judge Second Court Judge Ashok Kumar Dutta gave the order on Thursday (May 29) afternoon.<\/p>\n
The convicts are: Anis Mallick, Shahid Sheikh, Shahjahan Sheikh and Shamim alias nephew Shamim of Rajbari Sadar Upazila.<\/p>\n
Anis Mallick and Shahid Sheikh were present in the court when the verdict was announced. The other two, Shahjahan Sheikh and Shamim alias nephew Shamim, are absconding. Later, they were sent to jail under police guard.<\/p>\n
According to the case source, on March 6, 2020, Faruk Talukder, son of the deceased Siddiq Talukder of Pachuria village in Rajbari Sadar upazila, left his house with an easy bike. When he did not return home even at night, the family members started searching in various places. At one stage, on the morning of March 7, locals found the body of the easy bike driver Faruk Talukder on the side of the road in the Laxmidaser Hat area of \u200b\u200b\u200b\u200bFaridpur district sadar. Later, after receiving information, the police went to the spot and recovered the body.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the brother of the deceased in this incident, Hannan Talukder, filed a murder case with the Faridpur Kotwali Police Station as the plaintiff. The court announced the verdict in the case today, Thursday, after hearing witnesses and witnesses.<\/p>\n
Acting PP of the Second Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Md. Rakibul Islam said that the accused stole the easy bike, hacked the driver Faruk Talukder to death and left him on the side of the road. After hearing the case and testifying, the court sentenced the four to life imprisonment and a fine of Tk 20,000 each.<\/p>\n
He further said that two people were present in the court when the verdict was announced: they have been sent to jail under police guard. In addition, the judge ordered legal action to be taken, including issuing arrest warrants against the two absconding ones.
