There is a need for specific guidelines for the construction of bridges in Bangladesh. For this, the concerned departments will have to work together.<\/p>\n
These discussions came up at a seminar organized at the Council Building of BUET on Monday (May 19) morning. Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor Dr. Sheikh Moinuddin was present as the chief guest.<\/p>\n
The discussants said that although there is a specific code for the construction of buildings in Bangladesh, there is no such guideline for the construction of bridges. There is no standard policy for their maintenance or the preservation or repair of old bridges.
