Pakistan is not a violent country, its top priority is peace. This was stated by the Director General of the country’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chowdhury.<\/p>\n
According to a report by the Dawn newspaper on Sunday (May 18), New Delhi had accused Islamabad of the horrific attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, without any evidence, last month. Pakistan strongly denied the allegations and called for an impartial investigation.<\/p>\n
After the two countries’ reciprocal actions, India launched military action in Pakistan. Then, when Pakistan retaliated, the two nuclear powers India and Pakistan engaged in a military clash.<\/p>\n
After four days of continuous conflict, the two countries reached a ceasefire on May 10 under the mediation of the United States.<\/p>\n
US President Donald Trump suddenly announced that the two countries had agreed to a ceasefire after long diplomatic talks between the United States and the leadership of India and Pakistan.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, according to PTV News, in an interview with RT RB, regarding the India-Pakistan ceasefire, Lieutenant General Chaudhry said, \u201cWe are not an arrogant nation, we are a \u2018serious\u2019 nation. Our first priority is peace.\u201d<\/p>\n
He added, \u201cA big and sensible country like the US understands better what the sentiments of the people of Pakistan are.\u201d<\/p>\n
Regarding the ceasefire with India, Lieutenant General Chaudhry praised the \u201cextraordinary work\u201d of diplomats. \u201cThey have engaged the international community with great wisdom and in an extraordinary way.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, referring to the downing of five Indian aircraft in response to New Delhi\u2019s deadly attack on the night of May 6-7, the DG ISPR said, \u201cPakistan has responded to India\u2019s attack with great maturity, immediately, firmly and effectively.
