The Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP), an ally of the Awami League, has demanded cancellation of the registration of the 14-party alliance. The party leaders also urged that the assets of those who participated in the rigged elections be confiscated and spent on public welfare.<\/p>\n
At a press conference on Monday (May 12) afternoon, NCP leaders said that they see the issuance of a circular banning the activities of the Awami League as a positive thing. They also believe that it is not possible to eliminate the Awami League without rewriting the constitution of Bangladesh.<\/p>\n
The leaders of the Jatiya Nagorik Party-NCP immediately reacted to the media regarding the issuance of a circular banning all activities of the Awami League and its affiliates at Bangla Motor in the capital. Although there was no joyous procession, there was a sweet smile.<\/p>\n
At that time, the party leaders said that this is a historic victory for Bangladesh. This is how they call on everyone to stay united. NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari said that the students and the public will not tolerate any more hesitation regarding the July declaration this time.<\/p>\n
Stating that it is not possible to eradicate fascism by banning the Awami League, party member secretary Akhtar Hossain said that a new constitution is the need of the hour. The NCP member secretary also urged that the assets of those who participated in the rigged elections be confiscated and spent on public welfare.<\/p>\n
