Recently, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu was arrested on corruption charges. First, he was detained. Later, he was arrested and taken to court. He was taken to Marmara Prison on the court’s order. Protests began in Istanbul after Imamoglu’s arrest. Thousands of people took to the streets. They have been occupying the streets and demonstrating for the past five days.<\/p>\n
Imamoglu’s wife Dilek Kaya Imamoglu joined the protest yesterday, Sunday. She told thousands of people, “Erdogan’s time is over. This time he will lose.”<\/p>\n
She said that Ekrem was arrested unjustly. The people of the country are being treated unfairly, unjustly. Erdogan must take responsibility for this.<\/p>\n
