A Jana Samhati Samiti worker named Kamal Bikash Chakma (48) was shot dead in Rupban village in Subalong union of Barkal upazila of Rangamati.<\/p>\n
A group of armed miscreants entered a shop in the local Rupban market and shot him at him at around 5 pm on Wednesday. He died on the spot, locals said.<\/p>\n
The deceased Kamal Bikash Chakma is said to be the son of Jagannath Chakma of Dhebachara village in Rangamati Sadar upazila. Local sources said he was a fundraiser for the Jana Samhati Samiti in that area.<\/p>\n
In this regard, Barkal police station officer-in-charge Mohammad Kay Kislu told our time on Wednesday night, “We have received information about a person being shot dead in the Subalong area. However, the area is far from Barkal police station. It is already evening to get the news.
