The injured in the July movement have been holding a sit-in program for 26 hours. They have taken up a position in front of the main gate of the office of the chief advisor to the interim government, Professor Muhammad Yunus, with a single demand. They have been staying here since 9 am yesterday, February 26.<\/p>\n
Today, Thursday, at 11 am, about 25 to 30 protesters are standing in front of the gate of the chief advisor’s main office. They are surrounded by the police and members of various organizations, including the Armed Police Battalion (APBN), which is in charge of the office’s security.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the protesters said that they stayed here under the open sky at night. Many have gone somewhere nearby in the morning. As a result, the number of people is less now. However, the injured in July have left from different districts of the country. They will also join them by noon-afternoon to demand their demands.<\/p>\n
It is learned that initially they gathered to demand treatment and rehabilitation of the injured, but later they took up a position with a single demand.<\/p>\n
Incidentally, on November 13 last year, hundreds of people injured in the July-August uprising first protested in front of the Pangu Hospital demanding ‘better treatment’. On that day, at around 3 am, they left the road and returned to the hospital after about 13 hours, on the assurance of four government advisors.<\/p>\n
Then, on February 1, from 10:30 pm, the injured people protested again in front of the Agargaon Pangu Hospital. At that time, they also demanded ‘rehabilitation, financial assistance and state recognition’ along with good treatment. After protesting there all night that day, they blocked the Agargaon and Shyamoli Mirpur Roads from the morning of February 2 and protested all day. Later, around 6 pm, the injured people who were protesting left Mirpur Road and headed towards the residence of the chief advisor.<\/p>\n
