US President Donald Trump said he hopes Volodymyr Zelensky will soon reach an agreement with the United States on Ukraine’s mineral resources. Trump said this in the Oval Office last Friday. In response, Zelensky said in a video message, “Ukraine and the US delegation are working on a draft agreement… I hope for a fair outcome.” However, observers believe that Trump may put pressure on Ukraine in various ways if Ukraine does not receive its minerals. In the proposal, Trump has now asked Ukraine to take ownership of $500 billion in mineral resources in exchange for the military assistance that Washington provided to Kiev during the war.
