Two people have died in a fire that broke out in a house in Saudagar Colony on the west bank of Dighi in Kotwali Bolua, Chittagong. Three others were injured.<\/p>\n
The fire broke out in a tin shed in Zafar Saudagar Colony at 6:40 am on Monday. Four units from two fire service stations reached the spot on receiving information and brought the fire under control around 8 am.<\/p>\n
Fire service officials said that a total of five people injured in the fire were rescued and admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Two of them died while undergoing treatment there.<\/p>\n
The names of the deceased were not immediately known. However, the three injured people admitted to the hospital are Faisal (19), Sohan (19) and Shahin (22).<\/p>\n
Although they were not burned, their respiratory systems were damaged, said Burn Unit Chief Dr. Rafiq Uddin Ahmed.<\/p>\n
Senior Station Officer of Chandanpura Fire Station Mokarram Hossain said that five one-room houses were completely burnt in the fire and four houses were partially burnt.
