Andrew Gwynne (50), a junior minister in the UK’s Ministry of Health, has been dismissed for allegedly sending offensive messages on WhatsApp. The country’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the dismissal on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the British media outlet BBC reported that last Sunday, the UK’s The Mail published a report on the messages sent by Andrew Gwynne in the WhatsApp group. Starmer then decided to dismiss him on Saturday.<\/p>\n
In this regard, a government spokesman said that Prime Minister Keir Starmer is “determined to ensure high standards for those in public office and will not hesitate to take action against any minister who fails to meet these standards.”<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Andrew Gwynne has apologized for sending offensive messages on WhatsApp. He wrote on the social media handle X, “I deeply regret my comments.”<\/p>\n
He also wrote, “I understand the reasons for the Prime Minister and the Labour Party’s decision. “Although it is very sad to be removed, I will support them in any way I can.”<\/p>\n
According to the media, Andrew Gwenn has been accused of sending racist and sexually suggestive messages to a WhatsApp group.<\/p>\n
