Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Committee, said, “None of us are permanent in this world. Everyone has to say goodbye one day. At the end of the day, we have to go underground in a few yards of white cloth.”<\/p>\n
He said these things at the funeral of his grandfather, Tajir Uddin, at Rakhaldevihat High School grounds in Bamankumar area of \u200b\u200bAloakhoa union in Atwari upazila of Panchagarh at 11 am today, Tuesday. Later, Tajir Uddin was buried in the family graveyard after the funeral.<\/p>\n
Praying for prayers for his grandfather, Sarjis Alam said, “I do not consider this funeral of my grandfather as just a funeral but as an education. There are some customs in our society, when someone dies, a prayer invitation is organized after 3 days, 10 days or 40 days. I talked to everyone in the family about this and contacted the country’s leading scholars. They said that there was no such rule or culture since the time of the Prophet. There is no profit in this, but an occasion for sin may be created.\u2019<\/p>\n
He said, \u2018So from our place, we think that grandfather has left us. So we will not do anything that is not in the customs of Islam. We will not do anything that may cause him (grandfather) pain or sin later. In the next one week, it is their right. We will gradually arrange prayers in those orphanages and arrange for their meals in the orphanages. We will not do what happens at home.\u2019<\/p>\n
BNP Central Rural Development Secretary and Panchagarh District BNP Member Secretary Farhad Hossain Azad, Sarjis\u2019 family members and thousands of local people participated in the funeral.<\/p>\n
