Dhaka is once again at the top of the list of air pollution. The air quality monitoring organization Air Quality Index (AQI) released this information at around 9 am today, Wednesday. It has a score of 341 for the Bangladeshi capital. This level is called very unhealthy and risky.<\/p>\n
An AQI score between 101 and 200 is considered \u201cunhealthy\u201d for sensitive groups. An AQI score between 201 and 300 is called \u201cvery unhealthy\u201d. And an AQI between 301 and 400 is considered \u201chazardous\u201d, which poses a serious health risk to residents.<\/p>\n
At the same time, Delhi, India, is in the second position in the list of the most polluted cities in the world with a score of 194. In addition, Yangon in Myanmar is in third place with a score of 180, Lahore in Pakistan is in fourth place with a score of 174 and Cairo in Egypt is in fifth place with a score of 172.<\/p>\n
Dhaka has been suffering from air pollution for a long time. Its air quality generally becomes unhealthy during the winter and improves slightly during the rainy season.<\/p>\n
A report by the Department of Environment and the World Bank in March 2019 noted that the three main sources of air pollution in Dhaka are brick kilns, vehicle exhaust, and dust from construction sites.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
