Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has met members of the anti-China Communist Party (CCP) lobby in Washington in a desperate attempt to influence the new Trump administration in the United States. This has further strained relations between China and Pakistan, reports Greek City Times.<\/p>\n
The New Federal State of China (NFSC), a political movement led by exiled Chinese businessman Guo Wengui and former US strategist Steve Bannon, is working to overthrow the ruling CCP. Naqvi’s contacts with them have also raised serious concerns in Pakistan. Pakistan’s army chief General Syed Asim Muni sent Naqvi to Washington for President Donald Trump’s event to launch lobbying efforts with the new administration. On the other hand, senior Republican leaders and Trump supporters have been calling for Imran Khan’s release, which has put pressure on the Shahbaz Sharif-led coalition government in Islamabad. More importantly, General Moonir fears the backlash from the new Trump administration for imprisoning Khan and playing a role in human rights violations against members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
