The Bangladesh government is working sincerely to meet the demand for skilled workers in Saudi Arabia, said Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul. He said this at a view-sharing meeting organized by the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh with owners and top officials of various reputable companies in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Dr. Asif Nazrul said that there is a huge opportunity to send skilled and semi-skilled workers, including doctors, engineers, nurses and technicians, to Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
The Expatriate Welfare Advisor said that in addition to the various mega projects of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, such as NEOM, Red Sea, Kiddia, Green Riyadh, Amala, Diriya and Roshan projects, there is a huge potential for employment in global events such as the AFC Asia Cup in 2027, the Asian Winter Olympics in 2029, the World Expo in 2030 and the FIFA World Cup in 2034.Dr. Nazrul sought cooperation from Saudi recruitment companies, who, while acknowledging the presence of skilled professionals from Bangladesh, cited challenges such as lack of information, marketing, networking, delays in visa processes, language barriers and lack of pre-boarding training.<\/p>\n
He assured of solutions to these problems and emphasized on strengthening relations through regular job fairs, seminars and close communication with company officials. He also expressed gratitude to Saudi companies for their recruitment and support of Bangladeshi workers.<\/p>\n
Asif Nazrul inaugurated the embassy’s e-Demand Attestation System at the event. Through this system, Saudi companies will be able to register online and attest to worker demand without visiting the embassy, \u200b\u200bwhich will bring transparency and dynamism to this work.<\/p>\n
The officials of the Saudi companies present appreciated and welcomed the initiative. Bangladesh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Delwar Hossain delivered the welcome speech at the exchange of views. Later, Dr. Nazrul exchanged views with expatriate Bangladeshis living in Saudi Arabia and listened to their complaints about the high cost of air tickets and excessive charges by recruiting agencies.<\/p>\n
He assured of solutions to these problems and urged expatriates to use social media and websites to increase their communication with the embassy.<\/p>\n
Thanking the expatriates for sending remittances, he promised the government to take more initiatives for their welfare. The advisor requested them to abide by the laws and culture of Saudi Arabia and not to engage in any illegal activities.<\/p>\n
Regarding the voting rights of expatriates in the national elections, he said that the government is examining possible options to reach a realistic decision on this issue.
