Muhammad Shariful Islam Shehzad (35) who was arrested in connection with the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is a son of Rajabaria village in Mollarhat union of Nalchiti upazila of Jhalakathi. His father Md. Ruhul Amin Fakir (60) was once a worker in a jute mill in Khulna. Shariful Islam Shehzad (Bijay Das) is the second of three brothers.<\/p>\n
Shehzad is an accused in several cases including murder in Dhaka and Nalchiti police stations. He has been in hiding since the murder case of motorcyclist Rafiqul Islam in Nalchiti. He had no contact with his family. This information was obtained after talking to Nalchiti police local public representatives and Shehzad’s family. At one time he used to ride motorcycles on rent in the area.<\/p>\n
Locals said that while Shehzad was in Khulna he got involved in drug and terrorist activities and got involved in various cases. Fed up with this his family moved to his village house in Nalchiti. Although Shehzad would occasionally visit the area he was not stationary. At one point he even became separated from his family.<\/p>\n
Shehzad’s younger brother Md. Salman Fakir (16) said that Shehzad fled to India after being accused in the murder case of motorcyclist Rafiqul. He was also arrested by the police several times while in the country. He did not know anything about whether he had any contact with Salman Fakir’s family after fleeing to India.<\/p>\n
Neighbors said that Shehzad’s behavior was erratic and violent. Even after committing the crime, he did not show the slightest remorse. Shehzad was also arrested by the police several times.<\/p>\n
Neighbor Rintu Hawlader said that he got married at a very young age. However, that marriage did not last long. He also said that there were no children in that marriage.<\/p>\n
Several people in the Rajabaria area who did not want to be named said that the reason for the deterioration of relations with the people of the area was that he did whatever he wanted. Shariful Islam Shehzad has several cases against him including theft, robbery, extortion and murder. He has been beaten up by the local mob several times. Yet his character has not changed. They also said that he has been married several times but currently he does not have a wife.<\/p>\n
Shehzad’s father Ruhul Amin Fakir said, “Shehzad has no contact with us. I have heard that he has been detained in India. We do not know when and how he went to India. If he did anything bad, he will be punished. I hope if he is not involved in the incident, he will be acquitted.”<\/p>\n
Nalchiti police station OC Abdus Salam said, “We have not received any message yet. However, there was a case against Shehzad in Nalchiti police station. There are also murder cases in Dhaka and Barisal. The police have allegations that he is also involved in robbery.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
