Police have recovered the dismembered head and hands of an unidentified young woman from inside a shopping bag in the Mothertek Baganbari area of ​​Sabujbagh in the capital. They were recovered from a pile of garbage under a culvert in a canal on Thursday (August 6) morning.
Sabujbagh police said that after receiving information around 8 am, a raid was conducted under the culvert of the Mothertek Baganbari canal and the dismembered head and hands of the young woman were recovered from inside a shopping bag. It is believed that the deceased young woman is approximately 20 years old.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Sabujbagh Police Station Noor Alam Siddiqui said that apart from the recovered parts, the rest of the body has not been found yet. A search is being conducted in the surrounding areas to recover them. The CID forensic team has been informed to identify the deceased young woman.
He also said that preparations are underway to send the recovered parts to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Police are trying to unravel the mystery of the incident by collecting CCTV footage from around the scene. Initially, the police believe that the young woman was killed somewhere else and her body was dismembered and dumped at the scene to hide her identity and body. Investigations are underway to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.
