Four pedestrians stabbed in London after stabbing…

A woman has been arrested by police after stabbing four people in Covent Garden, a popular tourist area, on Wednesday (August 5).
London’s Metropolitan Police said initial investigations are treating the incident as a mental health incident. A pair of scissors were recovered from the scene. Police said the four people injured in the attack were aged 34, 39, 42 and 52. They had stab wounds to their bodies. A 47-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal weapon and assault.
The injured were taken to a trauma centre after the incident on Endell Street on Wednesday afternoon. Two have been released after treatment, while the other two are still being treated in hospital. However, their injuries are not believed to be serious or life-threatening.
London Police Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart said the investigation was still at an early stage. However, we would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident and we believe it is related to mental illness.
Arjan Zorga, manager of a fish and chips restaurant near the scene, said the attack was carried out randomly on pedestrians on the street. “I didn’t see the scissors myself, but I heard that the attack was carried out with a small pair of scissors. The police took very quick action after the incident,” he said.
