Motorcyclist dies after being hit by car in Hatirjheel

A motorcyclist named Md. Hasan (30) was killed after being hit by a car in the capital’s Hatirjheel area. The accident occurred on Hatirjheel Road at around 5:15 am today (August 4). The deceased Hasan is the son of Munna Mia, a resident of Mirzanagar village in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali. He lived with his family in Merul Badda in the capital and earned a living by sharing motorcycle rides.
Hasan’s father Munna Mia said that his son was out on his motorcycle in the early hours of the morning like every day. When he reached Hatirjheel Road, a speeding car hit the motorcycle with force. As a result, he fell on the road and was seriously injured. On receiving the information, he went to the spot and rescued him and was quickly taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
DMCH Hospital Police Camp Inspector Md. Faruk said that the death was confirmed with the help of doctors. The body has been kept in the hospital morgue and the matter has been reported to the concerned police station for legal action.
