US strikes have forced Iran to negotiate: Rubio

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has claimed that Iran is more interested in negotiations than ever before after Washington’s military strikes. According to him, Tehran is now interested in discussing its nuclear program as well as the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. This information was reported in a report by Qatar-based media Al Jazeera on Sunday (August 2).
In an interview with Fox News, Rubio said that the US strikes destroyed Iran’s navy, air force, missile defense system, missile launch sites and weapons production infrastructure. At the same time, he claimed that these attacks have significantly weakened the country’s defense capabilities. However, Marco Rubio also commented that Iran’s military capabilities have not been completely exhausted. According to him, Iran still has missiles and drones and they also have the ability to cause damage through them.
However, Rubio claimed that the conventional military capabilities that Iran previously relied on to feel secure after the US attack are no longer viable. As a result, he indicated that Tehran has very limited options in the current situation other than moving towards negotiations.
