July 29, 2026: What is the price of a 22-carat gold bar?
Gold prices have fallen again in the country’s market due to the decline in the price of acidic gold. The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of a bar by Tk 2,216. As a result, the price of a 22-carat gold bar including VAT has been fixed at Tk 220,857. BAJUS gave this information in a notification on Tuesday (July 28) morning. The new price came into effect from 10 am on that day.
According to the new price, the price of a 22-carat gold bar (11.664 grams) including VAT in the country’s market will be Tk 220,857. In addition, the price of a 21-carat bar has been fixed at Tk 210,943, the price of a 18-carat bar at Tk 181,200 and the price of a traditional gold bar at Tk 148,016.
BAJUS said that this price will be effective in all jewelry stores until further notice. However, wages will be applicable according to the jewelry design. Since VAT is attached to the selling price of gold and silver jewelry, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers. So far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 96 times in the domestic market. Where the price has been increased 47 times, decreased 48 times and VAT has been adjusted once.
