Prime Minister seeks Japan’s active cooperation in various sectors, including human resource development

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has sought Japan’s more active cooperation in various sectors, including human resource development and skill development. He urged Japan to take the initiative to recruit skilled health workers, agricultural workers and drivers from Bangladesh by acquiring proficiency in the Japanese language.
He made this call during a courtesy call on the Prime Minister by Japanese Prime Minister’s Special Advisor Uno Yoshimasa. The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday (July 28) afternoon. The Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary Shahadat Swadhin made this statement.
The meeting discussed further strengthening the strategic partnership between Bangladesh and Japan and taking bilateral relations to new heights.
At the time, the Prime Minister urged Japanese companies to further increase investment in Bangladesh. In addition, the Prime Minister said that the Bangladesh government will provide all-out cooperation if Japan is interested in setting up another 2,500 square meter industrial park in Narayanganj. The Prime Minister also emphasized on working together to expand trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting also discussed the inauguration of the third terminal of Shahjalal International Airport on December 16, the progress of the ongoing Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project and various infrastructure cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman, Prime Minister’s Advisor on Finance and Planning Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaid Islam and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Employment in the Asia-Pacific Region Dr. Md. Shakirul Islam Khan.
On behalf of Japan, Assistant Deputy Minister for International Aviation Affairs of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Nakayama Rieko, relevant officials of the Civil Aviation Bureau of Japan and Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Saida Shinichi were present.
