6 Bangladeshis killed in fire in South Africa
Six Bangladeshis were killed in a fire at a shop in Samo area, about 150 kilometers from Queenstown in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. The six Bangladeshis who died were residents of Kukarchar and Char Alirtek areas of Alirtek Union in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila and Ramnagar area of Baktaboli Union.
The fire broke out at the shop in Queenstown at around 3 am local time today (July 28). The Bangladeshis were sleeping inside the shop when the fire broke out. Six people died on the spot. Another person inside the shop was injured in the incident. He has been admitted to the hospital. The cause of the fire was not immediately known. Local police are investigating the incident.
